I believe that I have the model numbers right. If not, please correct me. I stopped by the JD dealer this week and he said that the Yanmar-built tractorshave not been available since last Spring....yet the new 4000 series were hardfor dealers to get their hands on. He had about 6 - all the same model - and said that some models were not yet available. Somehow he didn't strike me asbeing completely knowledgeable... I think I prefer the old 9xx and 10xx yanmar-built tractors anyway, andwonder if some dealer is still selling them? Roger L

I don't think that they are being built anymore. There are still some in the system though! The only trace of the 70 line is the new 790, which is basically the old 770 with a bigger engine and a few updates! ....

Roger, I agree the discontinued 70s series are a better built tractor than the 4000 series and the 55 series too. Even the specs. sitting here in front of me seem to prove that. I bought a used 870 and has performed flawless for the last 6 mon. When I bought my 870 6 mon. ago there was still some leftover new 870s available. Not sure about the 970 or 1070, but do some research and I bet you can find one still. regards,mike ....

Try searching with the help of JD machinery finder. A dealer gave it to me and it saved me $2000.00 the first day. ....

The URL address is machinefinder.com. It is a Deere sponsored site that showsdealer used inventory also some new items. It is not limited to John Deereequipment. ....
